Jake Laime – Head Coach

Jake is a native of Muskegon, Michigan. After a short two-year stint playing minor pro hockey, he found his passion in training and developing athletes. Designated as a Master Trainer by the Athletic Republic, he’s helped produce more than 20 NCAA Division I players, 1 Hobey Baker Finalist and 2 All-Americans. His players have been drafted in the USHL, OHL and NHL and have gone on to play in the AHL, KHL and NHL. He’s led teams to 5 USA Hockey Junior National Championships and won a Kelly Cup with the ECHL’s Florida Everblades as a member of their Strength and Conditioning staff. As a member of any of the coaching staffs he has been a part of, his teams have never missed a playoff appearance. In 7 seasons with the Mustangs, Jake is 222-90-16, that’s a .701 winning percentage. He’s led the Mustangs to three division championships and three appearances in the Thorne Cup Finals. He’s placed 31 former Mustangs in the NCAA and 9 in professional leagues.
Ross Kovacs – Assistant Coach

A former player of head coach Jake Laime’s in Florida, Ross is originally from Dickinson, North Dakota. He played his junior hockey for the Hawkesbury Hawks in the CCHL, followed by a successful four-year career at Gustavus Adolphus College (NCAA D3) in Minnesota, where he received a degree in exercise physiology. Ross spent last season as an assistant coach at Rice Memorial Prep in Burlington, Vermont.

Jaroslov Spodniak – European Scout / Special Advisor

 Jaroslav has been coaching hockey in Slovakia for decades, following a playing career for HC Kosice in the the top Czech league, now the Tipsport Extraliga. He has worked with top-tier players to help them advance and develop the necessary skills to move up in their hockey careers.
Ron Gay – Scout / Special Advisor
Ron has been coaching hockey for the past 30 years, starting at the youth hockey level, working his way up to his most recent tenure in the United States Hockey League. Over the years, Ron has coached and managed youth programs and rinks. He has a long-standing history of working with elite players to help them advance and develop the necessary skills to move up in their hockey careers. Ron is well known for his work in skill and skating development. After a stint with the TPH Thunder in Nashville, TN, Ron is currently with Meijier AAA in Michigan.
