The 2017 Western States Shootout will take place Dec. 17-21 this season in Las Vegas, Nev.
New this season, the majority of games will be played at the two rinks in the Las Vegas Golden Knights brand-new practice facility, City National Arena. Some games will also still be at the SOBE Ice Arena as well.
This showcase features all 23 WSHL teams. Each team this season will play three games in three days, matched up against statistically-comparable teams from other divisions. The games are two, 25-minute periods long, abbreviated to allow as much hockey to be played as possible during the week. NCAA and ACHA teams send scouts from across the country to watch and recruit WSHL players. In the past few seasons, the event has averaged nearly 100 scouts in attendance. It’s a big opportunity for teams and players to showcase themselves on an important platform.
Game schedules are still TBA.
Over the past two seasons at the event, the Mustangs have a 6-0-2 record.
We love having our fans with us there so much, that we’re putting together a giveaway package (event passes, hotel room, etc.) for a few, lucky Mustang fans. Stay tuned on our Facebook page for further details soon to come.
