The Ogden Mustangs will have defenseman Ryan Mascali back on the blue line for the 2017-18 season.

Mascali is the third returner from last season’s team so far announced, the second Tennesseean announced and the sixth player overall.

“I’m excited to return to Ogden and do some damage this year and hopefully win a championship for our loyal and amazing fans,” Mascali said.

Born in 1998, Mascali will have one more season of junior hockey eligibility after this one. At 5-feet-9-inches and 161 pounds, he’s a fast, reliable, hard-working defenseman. The Franklin, Tenn. native will look to pick up right where he left off last season.

Mascali had three goals and 16 assists in 57 games last year. His best single-game performance was Oct. 23 against the Las Vegas Storm when he had a goal and two assists. His biggest goal of the season came Feb. 11, late in the third period in McCall, Idaho, which stood as the game-winner against the defending-champion Idaho Jr. Steelheads.
