The Colorado Jr. Eagles came back to take the Western States Hockey League Mountain Division Championship for the second straight season in a row in Ogden, Sunday afternoon at The Ice Sheet.

Hunter Cooley’s second goal of the game, 13:02 into the sudden-death overtime period iced the game.

The Mustangs had a 2-0 lead in the second period of the game on goals from Matus Spodniak and Corey Iapalucci, but Austin Piquette would shut the door on the Mustangs for the remainder of the game, as the Eagles scored three unanswered goal to win it.

Both teams now advance to the Thorne Cup Finals, which will be played back in Ogden, April 12-16, involving the six remaining WSHL teams in the playoffs. Join our Facebook event page for all the latest details.
