Former Ogden Mustangs goaltender Owen Zdunski has signed with SUNY Cortland and will be on the roster with the new semester starting this month.
Zdunski played in six games for the Mustangs this season, putting up some solid numbers: a 1.33 goals against average and .942 save percentage.
“I had an incredible experience in Ogden,” Zdunski said. “I really enjoyed the fans and the facility and gained quality experience while there.”
Zdunski had a visit with Cortland while with the Mustangs and decided to commit on the visit. His play in Ogden earned him a call back up to the NAHL with the Chippewa Steel after Thanksgiving.
The Mustangs continue to lead the WSHL in NCAA placement. They’ve had the highest NCAA placement rate in the Western States Hockey League over the past seven seasons.
Zdunski is the first player from this season’s team with an NCAA commitment. The Mustangs had five last season, including Matus Spodniak who went to NCAA DI American International College.
