Assistant Captain Back for One Last Ride; Pfalzer Returns

OGDEN, UT. – The Ogden Mustangs, proud members of the United States Premier Hockey League, are excited to announce the signing of Daniel Pfalzer for the 2021-22 season.

Pfalzer (Indian Falls, NY) is now the thirteenth player and one of two captains (Jack Jones) to return to the Mustangs from the 20-21 roster. A north and south player, Pfalzer was tasked to shut down opposing teams top scorers while also playing big minutes on the powerplay, penalty kill and even-strength.

"I had a great experience last year! The fans are like no other, the coaching staff and facilities are amazing. There’s no where else that I’m gonna have an experience like I will in Ogden."

The 5-8, 170 lbs upstate New Yorker is another versatile skater that brings speed, skill and tenacity to the lineup each and every night. While battling numerous injuries, Pfalzer was able to score 7 goals and 15 assists in 40 games played during the 2020-21 season. His 34 penalties drawn lead the Mustangs and were second-best in the entire Mountain Division. He also won over 300 face-offs and finished second behind teammate Lukas Washco in that department.

"I’m looking to bring leadership to the team again through getting the team to really believe and trust in the process we have in Ogden."

A team can never have enough players like Pfalzer and Head Coach Kenny Orlando could not speak any more highly of his returning assistant captain.

"Daniel is an integral part of our group. He is such a character person on and off the ice. The guys look to him for guidance in the locker room. Daniel serves any role that we put him in and leads on the ice with his relentless play."

His leadership by example and team-first approach helped elevate the youth movement in 20-21. Now, his work is cut out for him to continue to grow and help his teammates even more with the new season.

"This season I’m hoping to be a more dominating force on the ice and have the other teams scared to come to Ogden and play in front of our fans."
