By Tim Broussard OGDEN, UT. – With eight games on the docket, day two brought more skill, intensity, and increased physical brand of hockey. Each team played twice, one game in the morning session and one in the evening.
The camp paid its dividends as well by locking up four players with live signings for the 2021-2022 season.
The live signings were held between the morning and evening sessions as the players took a breather from the extended weekend of hockey. The signees included last season’s team leading-scorer Jake Meure, defenseman Cameron Hawks, and newcomers Lewis Izadi and NAHL Draft Pick Trey Hirschfield.
The evening sessions concluded with another four games played with a measured uptick in physical hitting and exhibitions of player speed. It was exactly what the coaches were looking for.
Coach Steve Soto stated that he was particularly excited with the "great turnout" and as the teams began to gel together that the games became "more competitive and definitely enhanced". Soto also wanted to specifically thank the volunteers. "You guys [volunteers] really do make this program run and make the experience absolutely amazing, so thank you!”
