Dolman commits to ACAC Briercrest College

The Ogden Mustangs are happy to announce forward Caleb Dolman has committed to attend Briercrest College with the intent to play Men's Ice Hockey for the Briercrest Clippers.

Dolman, Comox, British Columbia, joined the Mustangs this year after playing for the Cochrane Crunch for two seasons. Standing at 6'2" and weighing 205 lbs, Dolman is a power forward, but his hockey IQ and offensive acumen allow the Mustangs to be even more potent on both ends of the rink.

"Briercrest is a faith-based college located in Caronport, Saskatchewan, Canada. I will be studying Kinesiology and playing for the Clipper hockey team in the ACAC. With the help of Coach Jake [Laime], they reached out to me and we communicated regularly through emails and calls."

Briercrest College athletics is an Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference member. The ACAC is one of six member conferences in Canada that competes in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). "The national governing body for organized sports at the collegiate level in Canada" and the equivalent to the NCAA in the United States.

"There were a lot of factors that made it a tough decision to figure out; education, location, living, scholarship, hockey, and more. They made it an easy choice, being very informational and accommodating. It feels like a great fit and I am thrilled with my decision."

Dolman is in the midst of an excellent 2019-20 campaign with the Mustangs. In his first and only season with the Mustangs as his junior hockey eligibility will come to an end after the conclusion of this season, he is 6th in scoring with 21 goals and 23 assists in 38 games.

"Ogden has helped me in many ways. There is a culture with teammates that are very supportive and push me to be better. Our coaching has put me in the situations, on and off the ice, to be successful and further develop my game. Our ownership has also treated me so well. Coming to Ogden has worked out great for me and being the first Mustang to commit to a Canadian school. I hope that there will be more Canadian players after me that can walk a similar path."

Dolman, along with several other Mustangs, only have a few more games remaining at the Ice Sheet this season before it's time for playoffs and he is ready for the final push.

"I'm looking to finish out my junior career the way every player dreams: Win a Championship. I want to soak in and appreciate my last few months in Utah. It has been such a unique and rewarding experience, but I want to finish with a bang. I want to finish alongside my teammates and bring home a Thorne Cup to Ogden."
