Mustangs promoted to the NCDC

Mustangs promoted to the NCDC for the 2023-2024 season

Ogden Mustangs fans are about to enjoy their hockey at the next level. The team is moving into the NCDC, a Tier 2 level of Junior Hockey that is tuition-free. These Tier 2 level players will be exposed to NCAA D1 and NCAA D3 universities, in addition to all the professional ranks around the world.

Team owners, Sean and Kimberly Wilmert, are beyond pleased. “This opens the door to thousands of young players to play Tier 2 Jr. A hockey in the West,” Sean said. “Myself and the entire Ogden family are both excited and proud to bring the highest level of Jr. A hockey outside the USHL to the city of Ogden.”

The Ogden franchise promotion helps push Head Coach Kenny Orlando back into the Tier 2 ranks once again after leaving his last coaching opportunity at that level to captain the ship for Ogden in the USPHL Premier. According to Orlando, “Tier 2 has been the goal for both the organization and myself ever since setting foot in Ogden. It’s a blessing to be a part of such a great organization with these amazing people. We are very grateful for the opportunity to develop and advance some of the best junior hockey players in the game.”

As the Ogden Mustangs organization continues it’s upward trajectory, Kimberly sums it up, “I am excited for all of the hockey players who are chasing their dreams and for what it means to the city of Ogden, and hockey in the West.”

On behalf of all the Mustangs staff, we thank our fans for the continued support in our journey to be the best program in all of junior hockey! #NCDCWest
